Abstract

At Present day, cyber-crime is increasing at an alarming rate. A lot of people become targets of cyber-crime and due to a lack of knowledge of how to deal with it quickly; they lost a lot of money and personal data. One of this cyber-crime is ransomware. With a full-scale ransomware attack costing on averages an eye-watering US$1,852,872. In 2020 there were 304 million attacks in ransomware attacks and the highest recorded in 2016 at 638 million. So, this paper is to increase awareness in society about ransomware and how to tackle it. Ransomware is a rapidly developing threat to the information documents of individuals and businesses. It Encrypts documents on an inflamed laptop and holds the key to decrypt the files till the victim can pay a ransom. This malware is liable for masses of tens of millions of dollars of losses annually. Due to the large quantities of cash to be made, new variations seem frequently. This lets in bypassing antivirus software programs and different Intrusion detection methods. In this paper, we present quick records of ransomware, the arguments for and In opposition to paying the ransom, high-quality practices to prevent a contamination and to get over an infection should one show up.
