Characteristics of Data Warehouse

Abstract

Innovation is a critical factor in any modern business's competitiveness. This study presents the systematized results of research on data warehouse technology with automatic data replenishment from heterogeneous sources. It is suggested that the data warehouses contain information about objects with significant innovative potential. Data warehouse is a database that stores information geared towards meeting decision-making needs. It is a collection of decision-support technologies aimed at empowering knowledge workers (executive, manager, and analyst) to make better and more informed decisions. An extraction, transportation, and loading (ETL) solution, as well as an OLAP engine, customer analysis tools, and other applications are included in the data warehouse environment. Data warehouses can be controlled if the user has a common way of explaining the trends that are introduced as specific subjects. The major characteristics of a data warehouse are discussed in this study. The main important characteristics of data warehouse are that it is subject oriented, integrated, time-variant and non-volatile. We used data collection and document review in this research. After going through this research, we find information about the features and characteristics of data warehouse. The result of this investigation can be used for business planning, forecasting, technological development, and investment project expertise. We used data collection method and document review in this research.
