Abstract

Among all growing operating systems (OS), Linux is widely used across the world, and more and more people started using Linux OS for various purposes. During this article, we have summarized the subjects like Linux and Unix, Linux and free software, Linux and windows, Linux and embedded system. Linux may be open source software. Open-source software (OSS) is computer software with its ASCII text file made available with a license under user license. An end-user license agreement (EULA) that grants the copyright owner the right to review, modify, and distribute the software to anyone, for any purpose. Open-source software is jointly and publicly developed. Open-source software is the most prominent example of open-source development. The Linux kernel is an OS kernel employed by the Linux family of Unix-like operating systems. This is one of the most prominent examples of free and open-source software. Linux is, in the simplest sense, an operating system. This is software on your computer that allows an application, or computer operator, to access devices on your PC and perform desired functions. The OS relays instructions from an application to, as an example, the computer’s processor.
