Abstract

With the growth of sophisticated technology, the demand for an automated home with a security system grew. We have designed a smart home automation system with a security system to cater to that demand. Using Arduino, we will be making a home automation system and providing some essential functionalities and an intelligent security system. Home automation systems have grown in popularity in recent decades, and they improve comfort and quality of life. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of current and emerging home automation systems. Most home automation systems nowadays include a smart phone and a microcontroller. Using several communication channels, a unique phone application is utilized to manage and monitor household appliances. The working principles of various types of wireless communication techniques such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GSM are studied in this research work, and their features are compared so that users can choose their own technology to build a home automation system. In addition, the survey of various home automation systems is discussed in this research work, emphasizing their benefits and drawbacks.
