Virtual Assistant for Railway Stations

Abstract

Travelling by local trains can be a real struggle for some people who are traveling to new places they haven’t visited before. When they travel from different stations, they may have lots of doubts about those stations like the location of ticket booking counters, washrooms, canteens, train schedules, and ticket rates, etc. Although there are apps that book tickets for users, these unfamiliar commuters may not be aware of them. Some of them may even hesitate to ask their queries to local commuters or help desks, etc. So, to help out these unfamiliar commuters, we are developing a virtual assistant that will serve as a one-place solution for their queries. It will not only help them with ticket booking, but it will also suggest to them some nearby banks, hospitals, ATMs, restaurants, etc. with the aid of Google maps which can be of great use to them. It will also provide them with voice-based support to communicate more effectively.
