Abstract

This paper is about designing a research rover that can observe and analyze the host environment which may be a foreign or an unknown terrain. The Rocker bogie mechanism was utilised to develop the Rover, which is largely employed in Mars rovers to traverse tough terrain while keeping stability. It is NASA's preferred technique for spacecraft and rovers. The primary mechanical aspect of the rocker-bogie design is the drive train's simplicity, which is attained by using only two motors for motion. It can measure various climatic parameters like temperature, pressure, humidity and atmospheric gas composition. The camera present onboard can provide live video of the visuals surrounding the rover to the user via an app where values captured by various sensors on board are also presented. It also has an obstacle and pit detection sensor. The GPS present onboard provides the exact location of the rover in the terrain it is present.
