Abstract

In agriculture, a minimum distance often needs to be maintained while planting trees in an orchard or a field, so that each plant gets sufficient nutrients, water and sunlight. A common and obvious way of planting trees in a field, with each tree at a minimum distance (say 1 m) from its neighbors, would be along the corners of a square grid.
