Abstract

DakNet, the name of which stems from the Hindi word for "post"; in other terms, its name is a translation of DAK, which means mail in Hindi, associates a physical means of conveying with wireless data transfer to extend internet connectivity across rural areas. Digital communication via DakNet lets remote villages bypass traditional communication solutions due to its extraordinarily low cost and developing a full-coverage wireless broadband infrastructure. A market-driven migration from egovernment to universal broadband access is based on the idea that local users pay for the service. But how can this be accomplished? The DakNet wireless ad hoc network allows for asynchronous digital communications; this suggests that wireless and asynchronous services may well be the starting point for universal broadband access. DakNet has been with success deployed in remote components of each Republic of India and Asian country at a value 2 orders of magnitude below that of ancient phone line solutions.
