Abstract

This paper presents an IoT-based solution that helps enterprises, institutions and organizations comply with COVID-19 safety standards and recommendations to reduce their spread. We focused on the most popular measures for people as body temperature, wearing a mask and a social distance of at least 1.5-2 m. This project is an IoT based interior security surveillance system with following aspects: 1) Non-contact temperature measurement with a IR thermal sensor 2) Mask detection using web camera and Haar cascade algorithm. 3) Social distance between two people using web camera and digital image processing techniques. We measured temperature with an accuracy of ± 0.5ºC with IR sensor. The average face mask detection with the implemented system is about 86%. The distance measurement between two or more persons is about 70%, which need to be improved.
