Abstract

Steganography is the art of concealing the fact that communication is taking place by enclosing data in other data. There are a variety of carrier file types available, but digital photos are the most popular due to their prevalence on the Internet. There are numerous steganographic ways for hiding secret information in pictures. Some are more complex than others, and each has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. The steganography method used for different applications has varied needs. Some applications, For example, some situations may necessitate complete invisibility of the secret information, whereas others may necessitate the concealment of a larger secret message. This study aims to provide an overview of image steganography, including its applications and methodologies. It also tries to figure out what makes a good steganographic algorithm and briefly considers which steganographic techniques are better for various purposes.
